The costs associated with Memory Care can vary but are, ultimately, based upon the type and features of the apartment and the number of services needed by a specific resident.

At Quail Crest Memory Care, our monthly fees cover the apartment, our Signature Dining service, utilities, weekly housekeeping and laundry, life engagement activities, and many other services and amenities. There may be additional charges for items such as personal care, transportation, guest meals, etc.

Most residents and families pay for Memory Care with income from social security and pensions coupled with the use of savings, including the proceeds from selling a home. Long Term Care Insurance is also used to offset the cost of Memory Care. Some consumers convert life insurance policies to a loan, and others have family members who help pay a share of the monthly cost.

It’s important to note that Medicare, other health insurance plans, and HMOs will not typically cover memory care services. There is a specific program for veterans that may be an option called the Veterans’ Aid and Attendance Benefit.

If your resources are limited, it’s worth checking out financial assistance programs to see what options are available. Because the vast majority of residents pay privately and every Memory Care community is different, you are encouraged to speak with someone at our community to learn more about the payment options the specific residence accepts.

Most times, the basic monthly fee covers what is necessary for your loved one to live securely and comfortably. This includes an apartment or living space, housekeeping, and laundry services. We also include many other services and amenities. If you have any questions, please contact us.

In Oregon, assisted living and memory care communities cannot provide any medical or skilled nursing services but care providers have relationships with local medical professionals who can provide care conveniently onsite, such as Temporary Agency Skilled Nursing (VNAs), Podiatry, and Physical, Occupational and Speech Therapies.

Unless community staff is an appropriately skilled professional, he or she is not allowed to administer medications to residents, but can assist with self-administration of medications.

No, every community is unique and different and reflects the residents and quality staff. We take the stance that if our mother needed care, no question, Quail Crest Memory Care is where she would go. This includes help with activities of day-to-day living, observation, reassessment, and when appropriate, postural supports.
